MCMC Research Symposium 2023

The Research Symposium is an event by MCMC since 2009, typically held annually. The 2023 symposium addresses the building blocks of MCMC’s efforts to create a digital society with the theme “Building Awareness and Participation in Facilitating Malaysia’s Digital Society”. The Research Symposium is a one-day in-person event with selected Digital Society Research Grant (DSRG) researchers and relevant stakeholders as moderators and panellists through multiple tracks aligned to the symposium’s theme.

The symposium will feature selected Cycles 1 and 2, 2022 cohorts of DSRG fund recipients against the backdrop of MCMC’s efforts in delivering JENDELA targets and the wider national efforts at realising the Twelfth Malaysia Plan’s (RMK-12) key themes of re-setting the economy, strengthening security, wellbeing, and inclusivity as well as advancing sustainability. These key themes of the RMK-12 are aimed at generating shared prosperity, greater inclusivity, and ultimately forging the way to sustainable growth and innovation for future generations.

A plethora of key issues and challenges that link digital society with the research works funded by MCMC will be deliberated during the symposium. These discussions will further complement MCMC’s research works conducted by local universities and clarify regulatory and policy gaps in the nation.
